They spend very little time eating. Many of us never sit down for dinner together, although we might share a bowl of soup. While this eating pattern encourages group interaction, it also causes each family member to eat much less. They tend to snack on nuts, crackers, and dried fruit as they stroll through the streets.

They eat many hours each day, including sleeping periods. Since most of them will be traveling during the day, they must eat at a swift pace to keep the energy levels up. When they need energy at night, they take naps in the form of hot water baths.
