  • 2 sliced cucumbers

  • 1 Tbsp. each of minced garlic and ginger root
  • 2 Tsp. salt

Method To Prepare

Take a colander with cucumber slices. Sprinkle some salt on the cucumber slices and leave aside for an hour. Now take a bowl and whisk sugar and rice vinegar. Once the sugar is completely dissolved, stir in ginger, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and garlic. Run cold water through the cucumber slices to get rid of the salt. Transfer the washed slices in a bowl and combine them with bell peppers. Now drizzle the prepared salad dressing over the salad and toss well before serving.

Asian Cucumber Sesame Salad

This version of Asian cucumber salad is one of the popular salad recipes served in various parts of Asia. The salad features just spiral cucumber slices and toasted sesame seeds.


  • 2 peeled and spiral cucumbers
  • 2 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 Tsp. toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1/2 Tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tsp. salt

Method To Prepare

Peel the cucumbers and make spiral slices with the help of a spiral cutter or device. Place these spiral cucumber slices on a strainer and sprinkle them with salt and mix well. Let the slices stand for half an hour. You can also keep the slices undisturbed for an hour. Now combine sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and oil in a bowl. Whisk well until the sugar is dissolved.
